Several collections from the Resort 2020 runways showed sixties prints. La DoubleJ and Pucci being the strongest in my opinion. La DoubleJ captured that quintessential ‘Brady Bunch’ look while modernizing it with bold print mixing. I love the pairing of the vibrant stripes with the washed-out watercolored floral.
Folk florals were shown as well in the La DoubleJ collection, infused with a strong sixties wallpaper print look which I think freshens that trend up a bit.
Pucci was, well….Pucci. Always so very lovely and so very sixties. The wavy line trend and bold paisley prints are nostalgic with the cut-up print shown on the skirt adding that modern touch. All in all, this print trend would make an awesome direction for a swim collection.
Whenever I see a super kitchy bold collection like the La Double J collection, I want to immediately drop everything and open a vintage reselling shop. Anyone else? There is something so lovely about vintage and when we can capture that in a new collection, it is really special. There are a few artists out there that I know I can go to for this look/feel. It is their signature style. What is your signature style?
